چکیده
Purpose: Computer-aided methods for mandibular reconstruction have improved both functional and morphological results in patients who underwent segmental resection. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the overlaying virtual planning terms measures Computer Assisted Design/Computer Manufacturing CAD/CAM plate are ineligible insertion reconstructing titanium supported by fibular free flap, due their poor health status, or presence specific contraindications autologous bone flap harvest. Materials methods: retrospective performed analyzed nine patients. were treated at Maxillofacial Surgery Unit Policlinico S. Orsola Bologna, Italy, San Marco, Catania, from April 2016 June 2021. Superimposition between post operative Computed Tomography CT scan was assess accuracy. Results: All reconstructive procedures carried out successfully. No microsurgery-related complications occurred. In two cases, we had misplacement, one case, exposure that led removal. average accuracy series assessed after superimposition, as previously described, 0.95 mm. Conclusions: Considering microvascular transfer a high-risk procedure BRONJ patients, can conclude positioning customized bridging prosthesis (CBMP), whether not it associated with soft tissue transfer, safe technique surgical outcome feasibility.

The bridging lateral mandibular reconstruction plate revisited.
BACKGROUND Lateral oromandibular reconstruction using a soft tissue free flap with a first-generation locking mandibular reconstruction plate (MRP) was rejected in a previous series by the senior author (K.E.B.) owing to a high incidence of delayed plate extrusion through the cheek skin. OBJECTIVE To reexamine this method of reconstruction using a second-generation, low-profile MRP. PATIENT...
متن کاملCustomized mandibular reconstruction plates improve mechanical performance in a mandibular reconstruction model
The purpose of this paper was to analyze the biomechanical performance of customized mandibular reconstruction plates with optimized strength. The best locations for increasing bar widths were determined with a sensitivity analysis. Standard and customized plates were mounted on mandible models and mechanically tested. Maximum stress in the plate could be reduced from 573 to 393 MPa (-31%) by i...

متن کاملOsteosynthesis and simultaneous irregular trifocal distraction osteogenesis for segmental mandibular defect after tumor ablative surgery: a case report.
OBJECTIVE This paper describes a case of secondary mandibular bone reconstruction performed to place dental implants. Osteosynthesis and simultaneous irregular trifocal distraction osteogenesis were documented. PATIENT The patient was a 51-year-old man with recurrent ameloblastoma of the mandible. Segmental mandibulectomy for tumor ablation and immediate mandibular reconstruction were perform...
متن کاملCASE REPORT Removal of Exposed Titanium Reconstruction Plate After Mandibular Reconstruction With a Free Fibula Osteocutaneous Flap With Large Surgical Pin Cutters: A Case Report and Literature Review
Locking reconstruction plates have led to significant improvement in osteosynthesis and graft anchorage in mandibular reconstruction following the free fibula osteocutaneous flap. Plate extrusion is the most common complication associated with mandibular reconstruction, occurring in approximately 20% to 48% of cases; often necessitating plate removal once the bone flap has united to the mandibl...
